The Grenade Takes Over at Internet Comic Network !
on March 1, 2012 at 1:49 pmLooks like The Grenade has taken over Internet Comics Network this month. Every where you look, he’s there. Vince just posted the next 2 pages of Get in Line for The Grenade 2.5 this week and it’s continuing where it left off. I just want to say how much I’m enjoying his Grenade character. Get in Line has gotten a little behind as we are both fighting time constraints and trying to make a living. The only reason that bothers me is that I want to see what happens next in this intriguing storyline! His stuff has, to me, a nice Ditko feel to it and yet it’s uniquely his own style. I am enjoying watching him progress as we get further into Internet Comics. also a heartfelt thanks to Vin for letting me use his character this month.

Yeah! Yeah!… I’ve strayed from the Grenade story-line a bit… But it’s not like I haven’t put stuff up. When I was a kid I liked many different kinds of comics and I still do. So when the story Shanty Claus came to me I had to write it and Listen was just a lot of fun. Which brings
me to the reason that I’m finally posting a comment.
I’m sorry to hear of the passing of the great comic book artist John Severin on February 12.
For those of you not familiar with his work; He helped pioneer horror comics over at EC in the 1950′s. His work also graced the pages of Marvel and Warren as well as Cracked Magazine. His draftsmanship was implacable and his renderly style actually bucked the convention of the time for many of the books that he worked on. And by bringing his younger sister Marie into the field he help to pioneer a place for women in comics.
If not one of the most underrated story tellers in the genre; He was easily one of the most overlooked. Thanks for giving us some great work John.
If there any comic artist from yesterday you’d like to pay tribute write us and let us know what their art meant to you.
